DONALD TRUMP AND CREATION
By Dr. M. R. Dowler

Donald Trump is not the Creator. As arrogant as “The Donald” may appear at times, he nor any of us ever created anything in the theological sense of creation.

The flagship of Donald Trump’s empire is the Trump Tower, a 58-story skyscraper in midtown Manhattan. Trump’s name is emblazoned on the tower and his other buildings throughout the country, although, interestingly, the Donald did not build any of them. So what’s the connection to creation? Simply this---God is the Creator (Genesis 1:1), and all three Persons of the Trinity were involved in the creation of all things (Genesis 1:27).

For years some Bible scholars have used a clever illustration from the business world to explain the Trinity’s creative work. It goes something like this---God the Father, as the Executive (Psalm 19:1) desires to construct a beautiful structure. He directs God the Son, Jesus Christ, the Architect to design the blueprints to be used in the construction (John 1:3; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:10). And from those divine plans God, the Holy Spirit, acting as the General Contractor constructed all physical matter (Genesis 1:2; Job 26:13; 33:4).

Donald Trump, the executive of his billion-dollar empire did not personally build (or remodel) any of his buildings. He hired a competent architect to design the blueprints to be followed by the general contractor responsible for the actual construction. Donald Trump’s can claim he built his buildings because he owns them in a human sense. But God can (and does) claim ownership of everything because He (and only He) created everything (Psalm 24:1). Think about it.
